§ 27.3. When flagmen and lights necessary.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person to back any railroad locomotive, train or car within the city at night without having an alarm flagman stationed at the rear end of such railroad locomotive, train or car who shall carry a red light in such a conspicuous position as to be readily seen by persons who may be in the way of or endangered by such backing locomotive, train or car and such alarm flagman at such times must always be so situated as to be able to signal to and be seen by the engineer.
